2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony in 1080i HD (as broadcast by NBC in USA) Size: 8.33 Gb Format: MPEG-2 Running Time: about 1 hour, 20 minutes This show is spectacular--a must see! This version has the show only (with commentary); the commercials and parade of nations have been removed. This version is the original source as broadcast over the air. There will be no artifacts or any loss in quality due to transcoding or recompression. So, it is the best video quality version available! This version is better than the version NBC sells on standard DVD since it is 1080i. Enjoy!
1080i? Triffic.
PS: 8GB looks good until you note that it's MPEG2 instead of H264 ...

Commercials removed = part of the ceremony missing. I hope nobody thought that they would take pauses so US broadcasters could shovel more spam down your throat?
Somebody make a 1080i BBC torrent (full 4h 30min), pretty please? =)

Thanks. Does it still have the commentary? And when it has tonnes of seeds, could you possibly upload a version which fits on a SL DVD?
There is no NBC sourced version worth having ...

NBC didn't do a live broadcast, they showed it several hours later. That way they could insert commercials without losing parts of the show.
f*****g NBC!
***ATTENTION***
Could we possible get a full (original) capture of NBC broadcast in raw MPEG-2... These dozens of different encodes/edited videos are just lame. Obviously this is better than nothing (thx!) but full show would be so much better.
